Southern Harvest Catering Company is part of the Southern Harvest Hospitality Group, located in Durham, NC.  Founded in 2013, Southern Harvest Catering Company is about creating a dialogue among our guests, chefs, farmers and the food we present.  Just as our guests come together to tell their stories and share good times, our farmers and their produce and meats have a wonderful story of their own to share.  Many of our farmers have owned their farms for decades, and have chosen specific types of vegetables and raised certain breeds of livestock that exemplify the best of what their land has to offer.  These stories, as told through the culinary talents of Executive Chef Thomas Robinette, are there for you to enjoy, savor and remember as part of your event.

Tom Meyer is the owner/operator of the restaurants and catering companies of Farmer's Table Restaurant Group and Southern Harvest Hospitality Group. Since 2003, Tom has been involved in creating a wide range of restaurants that bring the very best of area farms and ranches to North Carolina tables through a careful designed network of independent farmers. In 1992, Tom was the co-founder of Nana's Restaurant in Durham, a restaurant that earned honors from Esquire Magazine as one of the year's Top 10 restaurants nationwide.

Michelle has been with the company since 2012. She has consulted for a variety of property management companies and has an extensive background in venue and special event planning. She has traveled extensively with her husband Jason and their son Porter. They are always in search of the next great meal!


Quentin Dyson

Quentin Dyson, started with our company in May 2014. He comes to us with an extensive background (20+ years) in the food service industry. He has been a cook, server, bartender and general manager at several hot spots in Durham, NC and San Francisco, CA. Foodie and wine lover at heart. When not at work he likes to spend his free time with his puppy, Loki.


Thomas Robinette

Thomas Robinette, Executive Chef

Thomas started cooking because of his mom. His fondest memories were of her cooking at a local church in Durham. In 2002 he graduated with an associate’s degree from Johnson and Wales Culinary College in Charleston S.C. While catering for the Citadel in Charleston he picked up a variety of outstanding talents and skills as a southern inspired chef. Following catering, he worked for over six years for Aramak before moving to Durham, North Carolina. In Durham he was head chef at Tylers Tap Room located at the American Tobacco Campus.


Laura Clay

Laura started with Farmer's Table in May 2015. She has worked in both catering and in tourism in the United States and abroad. After living in Argentina for several years, she developed a love for Malbec and Asados. She loves food, family, friends, and dancing--the essential ingredients for an awesome wedding.


David Fowle

David Fowle,  Venue Relations and Outreach Manager

David is a 20-year veteran of the specialty coffee business. His prior cafes have won numerous local and national awards. His last major venture before joining Southern Harvest in 2013 was as a partner on the renovation of a 100-year-old building in downtown Raleigh.  David has been married for over 25 years to Liz, whom he met in a coffee shop. They have 2 grown children.

Kim Hassey

Kim has been working with Southern Harvest Catering since 2013. She has extensive experience in the service and event industry in a variety of positions! She is a skilled baker and cake decorator, photographer, can make a fabulous cocktail and always provides outstanding service to her guests. The love of food runs in her family! She has an amazing husband who is a chef in Downtown Durham, three grown kids, three grand kids and two furry kids (English Bulldogs) at home! When she can get away she enjoys sitting on the beach in the Fall.
